Who Can Train?
Our dojo welcomes students of all experience levels. No prior martial arts experience is necessary, only a willingness to learn and a respectful attitude. We provide guidance at every stage of development, from fundamental movements to advanced techniques.
When
We train once a week on Fridays, for 2 hours from 18:00 to 20:00.
Where
Oppsal Arena, Veltandsveien 49, Oslo.
Attire & Equipement
Traditional training attire consists of a keikogi (training top), an obi (belt that supports the sword), and a hakama (split skirt). These are not required when you begin training, but you’ll need to acquire them as you progress.
We use two types of swords, but you’ll be provided with equipment to borrow when starting out.
For iaijutsu, we use an iaito, an unsharpened, imitation sword. While not sharp, these are authentic replicas of real swords, available in various sizes and weights with many customization options. The sword was considered the soul of the samurai, so personalization is part of the tradition.
For kenjutsu, we use a bokken (or bokuto), which are wooden training swords. These come in different types of wood depending on personal preference.
